This Collector's Choice #9 1959 Les Paul Believer Burst is based off of one of the most famous and most visually striking of all the original burst Les Pauls in exisistence serial number 9-0850. Over a span of 30 years, Vic DaPra, avid collector and author, was able to get his hands on this very special 1959 Les Paul in 2008, quickly becoming the highlight of his collection and was even featured on the cover of his 2013 book Burst Believers. Thanks to the close cooperation of the owner of this fine vintage instrument, Vic DaPra, Gibson Custom was able to scan, trace and measure every curve and parameter of the original Believer Burst to give today's players and collectors a chance to own one of the most esteemed Les Pauls ever made.
The lightweight, one-piece solid genuine mahogany back of this Collector's Choice #9 1959 Les Paul Believer Burst lays beneath a hand selected carved maple top that displays the stunning and unique, wide shevron figuring of the original. The remarkably vibrant cherry sunburst finish is faded to perfection and aged by hand to flawlessly match the playing wear, and the all-around look of the extraordinary 50+ year old burst.
