Four Seasons: The Vivaldi Album

Anne Akiko Meyers is one of today's most sought after violinists. She regularly performs as guest soloist with the world’s most prestigious orchestras, in recital, on television and radio. She is a top-selling recording artist who has close to 30 highly acclaimed albums to her credit.

In time for Valentine's Day 2014, the Four Seasons: the Vivaldi Album, will be the first commerical recording of the legendary 'Vieuxtemps' Guarneri violin. The Four Seasons: the Vivaldi Album will feature works by Vivaldi and Arvo Pärt with the English Chamber Orchestra and David Lockington.

A champion of living composers, Meyers has actively added new works to the violin repertoire by Mason Bates, Jakub Ciupinski, John Corigliano, Jennifer Higdon, Wynton Marsalis, Olivier Messiaen, Akira Miyoshi, Arvo Part, Gene Pritsker, Somei Satoh, and Joseph Schwantner. Recently, with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Meyers co-commissioned and premiered the Mason Bates violin concerto with Leonard Slatkin conducting. Additional performances of the concerto include the Chicago, Detroit, Nashville and Richmond Symphony Orchestras. In 2014, eOne Music plans to release the world premiere recording of the Mason Bates Concerto, Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto and John Corigliano's "Lullaby for Natalie", a piece written for the birth of Meyers's first daughter with Leonard Slatkin and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Meyers's most recent recording, 'Air-The Bach Album, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Classical chart and was one of the top-selling classical albums of 2012. The recording features Bach’s solo violin concerti as well as the double concerto with Meyers playing both solo parts on the 1697 ex-'Napoleon/Molitor' and the 1730 'Royal Spanish' Stradivari violins with the English Chamber Orchestra.
Ms. Meyers has collaborated with pop singing sensation, Il Divo, top jazz artists such as Chris Botti, Wynton Marsalis and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and performed the National Anthem in front of 42,000 fans at Safeco Field in Seattle. She appeared twice on "The Tonight Show" and was named the #3 story of the year for her appearance on 'Countdown with Keith Olbermann'.

She was also featured in a performance with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Holland and performed in front of 750,000 people in Sydney, Australia's Harbour, celebrating their 200th Bicentennial and has performed for dignitaries including the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Meyers has been featured in numerous print and television commercials including Anne Klein’s “Women of Substance” fashion campaign that appeared in magazines around the world and was photographed by Annie Leibovitz and recently starred in ads for Tourneau. Michael Arad, the architect for the World Trade Center Memorial, also paired Anne's music in his winning submission entitled, Reflecting Absence. This design was one of 5,201 memorial submissions from 63 nations.

Anne was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Southern California. She studied with Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld at the Colburn School of Performing Arts, Josef Gingold at Indiana University, and Felix Galimir, Masao Kawasaki and Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School. At age 23, she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, the only artist to be the sole recipient of this annual prize. Ms.Meyers has joined the advisory board at Young Concert Artists.

Ms.Meyers performs on the 1741 ‘Vieuxtemps’ Guarneri del Gesu, considered by many to be one of the finest violins in the world.
